Crocheted Dodger Girl

I’m baaackk…..Told you I’d be back sharing my latest creation!

Dodger Girl 1I was inspired to make my Doll by many Doll Makers but I have to say the 1st doll that inspired me was from a gal named Aniqua Wilkerson from “My Kinda Thing” on Facebook then I saw another doll from Dee Dee from “Off D’Hook Creations” also on Facebook they both were such an inspiration to me as I hadn’t done Amigurumi in years and seeing their creations got that creativity flowing and I pulled out a Bunny I had sitting around for awhile which you can see HERE!

Anyway seeing their Beautiful Dolls inspires this one!  I have to say I’m “Extremely Proud” of myself! I’ve been waiting to bring this girl to life for some time now! Before I introduce you I’ve got to say this – Besides the Shoes (The Crochet Crowd) & the Flower in her hair – I made her up as I went along!

Corner to Corner Graphgan?

Hey Crafters!  I know it’s been a while BUT wait til you see what I’ve been up to!!!

2015-08-23 12.56.49I wanted to share my latest WIP (work in progress) which I got started.  It’s called a Corner to Corner or C2C Aghan in this case it’s a Graphgan – what does this mean?  Well its going to be a Crocheted blanket starting in 1 corner and working your way up!  Graphgan – meaning it’s going to have a type of photo in it.  NOW I have to say I have done something like this before way back in the day but it was done a little differently.  I’ve been seeing so many AWESOME Blankets with this and I’m finally attempting my own! Here’s the progress! Any guesses as to what it’s going to be?  I’ll be posting more items so stay tuned! One in just a little bit!

***Now if you are a crocheter and are reading this I have a few Quick Questions – For those making Bobble-Ghans or C2C Graphgans which do you like better or which goes faster for you? AND which has less string mess.

Thanks for stopping by and as always,

Happy Crafting!

Crocheted Baby Mermaid Cocoon

Hey Crafters!  Well first I hope you all had a great and safe 4th of July celebration for those who celebrated!  We spent it with Family & Friends and GREAT Food!  I’ll have to share of course my Spinach Dip recipe but also that cake that was there! It was Yummy!

Mermaid Cocoon 1Well on to my finally finished project – Yes as the title of this post said Baby Mermaid Cocoon which I had been dying to make!  I have to say I’m very pleased with how this turned out too!

I found a great video on YouTube which I’ll post the link below for those who maybe interested in making one! Don’t be intimidated it’s really easy once you get the hang of it. I had to change it up just a bit as I wanted my scales to lay just a little differently!

There are 3 videos 1 for the Body, 1 for the Bikini Top and the last for the Starfish headband! Click HERE for the Body part then you’ll see the rest.

Mermaid Cocoon 2Materials I used for this project were all Red Heart Yarn – Colors in Turqua, Pumpkin and a little bit of Aran.

I just LOVE the Starfish Headband & The Shell Bikini top!  This would make a great baby shower gift and a super CUTE Photo Prop of your “Little Mermaid”.

These will be in my Etsy shop soon as soon as I take just a little bit better pics! Just had to share before I call it a night!

Well that’s it for now.  I’ll be back tomorrow with the Yummy Spinach Dip Recipe! As always thanks for stopping by and…….

My Newest Project Revealed!!

Doll 4After Math

Happy Friday All –  Well I’m finally finished and I have to say that I stayed up til almost 2 am finishing HER!

This is my first Doll and I LOVE HER!  Not my first Amigurumi as I’ve made animals!  See the after math on my table last night??  Ok, so I am not showing you the WHOLE table! LOL! The book I used is in a link below.

Oh Man but it was so FUN making her!  I’m thinking I’ve got a new Obsession.  How can I not!  The possibilities are endless!  You know I’m going to HOOK me another one right?  You betcha!

Doll 3Here she is standing up! She’s coming in at about 13″ tall!  Now what to name her?? HMMM……

My son likes the name Andrea “Lady A” then changed his mind to Makayla.  My daughter and son-in-law like Donna, Sophia, Aubrey then Madison “Maddy” – I’m kinda liking Maddy.

What do you think?  As always thanks for stopping by and…

Yvonne Metz
