Hey everyone! Well I’m back with another super cute & easy Graph Beanie! My “HOPE” Beanie. With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month how AWESOME are these???
I did make a video and it’s been filmed and edited. Just waiting for it to be ready to upload on YouTube. I’ll update this post when it’s ready. BUT in the meantime you can at least get the pattern so if you do need to follow me at least you can print out the pattern. Hope Graph Beanie
I do have to say these Graph Style Beanies are super addicting! Well if you have any questions on the pattern or you find a mistake please let me know.
As always thank you for stopping by & Happy Crafting,
I can’t believe I totally forgot to share this update here! So I mentioned in a few post before that The “Original” Katniss Messy Bun Beanie by Diana Borgstrom is still a favorite in our Messy Bun Group! This was my 1st crochet video I ever did. I ended up re-doing it and showing how to do a Full Beanie and where to stop for the Messy Bun Version. I revised the pattern to add a few things to it. Here is the updated version of the pattern: Full Katniss Beanie
If you find any mistakes or have any questions please ask! This Beanie has such great texture! Super easy to make as well. You can’t make just one!
Thanks for stopping by and as always Happy Craftin’…

Hey All! Hope your week is off to a good start! It’s been pretty busy around here! Working on so many different things! I’ve got lots to share this week as I’ve been on a video making mission!
If you are in our Facebook Group then you already know the popularity of the Graph Beanies! It all started with a Coffee Beanie! Then exploded to Mocha, Latte, Fighter and LOTS more! So here is the “Love” Beanie. It was the one that was voted on to make next AND to have a video made of it. Which is done! Thanks to Diana & Lynn for helping with the Graph!
This is my 1st attempt at this type of Beanie and also using the Waistcoat stitch! Which is also known as the Knit stitch. You can kinda see in the letters that it looks knitted.
So I’m sharing the pattern here with you all and I’ll also be posting the video when it’s done. Thinking later tonight. But for sure tomorrow.
**UPDATE Video has been added below. Also just to note since this hat was made using a #5 Bulky yarn I was able to fit the words perfectly on the front. Now you can use a #4 yarn (I plan on making one using #4 soon) but since the yarn is thinner your outcome will be different. I’m just learning this Graph stuff but will share my tips & tricks along the way.
The pattern was updated to add a few things included a chart for left-handed crocheters. If you find any errors please let me know. I am by no means a pattern writer at all. Just do my best to share what I did.

Happy Sunday All! Can hardly believe we are already half way through September! I mean the Holidays are literally just around the corner! Which means I need to get crafting!
Well I wanted to share what was on my hook with you all today. I’ve been making some super cute key chains which I’ll share those with you a little later.
But I was really wanting to make some Mermaid one! Well today I finally sat down and did. I’m super pleased with how they turned out. What do you think???
Well I sure hope you like them as I’d like to share with you all how I made them. I’m also working on a video for those that like a visual. Some parts are a little tricky and I sure hope I can explain it in writing. If you have any questions though please don’t hesitate to ask. Sometimes how you make something is super hard to put on paper. BUT I do my best. So here we go! (Amazon Affiliate links below)
MC: Magic Circle SC: Single Crochet CH: Chain FO: Finish Off your work Sts: stitches sl st: Slip Stitch sc inc: Single Crochet Increase – add 2 sc sts in the same space sc dec: Single Crochet Decrease – pick up 2 sts and decrease
Notes: You’ll be working in the Round unless otherwise stated in this project.
Directions:
Mermaid Body: Start with a MC
R1: 6 sc inside the MC (6) R2: (sc x 1, sc inc) x 3 (9) R3-5: sc x 9 (9 sc) R6: (sc x 2, sc inc) x 3 (12) R7-9: sc x 12 (12 sc) R10: (sc x 3, sc inc) x 3 (15) R11-12: sc x 15 (15 sc) R13: (sc x 4, sc inc) x 3 (18) R14-15: sc x 18 (18 sc) R16: (sc x 5, sc inc) x 3 (21) R17-18: sc x 21 (21)
FO, leaving a long tail for sewing – Stuff firmly leaving a little but unstuffed at the top for sewing it closed.
Sew the top of the body closed – I worked through back loop on one side and the front loop on the other side – I show how I did this in my Video. When you are halfway through the body I added the Key chain then kept sewing. (Bring yarn back and reinforce key chain)
Mermaid Tail: start with a ch 11 Working in BLO
R1: sc in 2nd chain from hook, ch 1 – turn (10) R2: BLO – sc x 8, sc dec, ch 1 – turn (9) R3: BLO – sc dec, sc x 7, ch 1 – turn (8) R4: BLO – sc x 6, sc dec, ch 1 – turn (7) R5: BLO – sc dec, sc x 5, ch 1 – turn (6) R6: BLO – sc x 4, sc dec, ch 1 – turn (5) (Middle of the Tail) R7: BLO – sc inc, sc x 4, ch 1 – turn (6) ***you may want to mark the first sc so you don’t miss it. R8: BLO – sc x 5, sc inc, ch 1 – turn (7) ***you may want to mark the last sc so you don’t miss it. R9: BLO – sc inc, sc x 6, ch 1 – turn (8) R10: BLO – sc x 7, sc inc, ch 1 – turn (9) R11: BLO – sc inc, sc x 8, ch 1 – turn (10)
Now to add a finishing touch to the tail Ch 1 do not turn –
Working at the top of the tail you’re going to work in the ridges skipping every other row. (I insert in between the ridges)
You should end up with about 6 sc across the top the last one being at the other side of the tail.
Working on the side of the tail sc all the way down – Put 3 sc in the corner of the tail
Working at the bottom of the tail slip stitch will you get around to the other side of the tail
Working on the other side of the tail add 3 sc in the corner then sc all the way down til you get to the top. Slip stitch to the 1st sc, finish off, leaving a long tail to sew to the Mermaid Body.
I hope you enjoyed this pattern! If you find any mistakes please let me know.
As I mentioned I’ll be working on a video this week. So make sure to come back and check as I’ll be posting it here OR click on my YouTube button at the top right hand corner and subscribe so you know when I make new videos. I’ve got another video that is just about ready! YES I’m back to making more.
Have a great rest of your Sunday, thanks for stopping by & Happy Craftin’, Yvonne Metz Vista, CA.
Happy Wednesday everybody! Wow this summer seems to be flying by fast! I’ll soon be going back to school shopping with my Son! YIKES! So I’ll have to enjoy the last few weeks. We really need to hit the beach!
I just wanted to share a few things with you all! I know most of you crocheters know Sara Zimmerman from her Repeat Crafter Me blog. Well she’s shared for FREE so many wonderful patterns over the years. Gosh I’ve been following her since before her baby girl was born!
Anyway her patterns are wonderful and super easy to follow. She has published a few books now. The 1st is Corner to Corner Lap Throw (which I have) and the other will be coming out soon “Crochet Cute Critters” both links below and her 2nd book you can pre-order. The price just went down from $16.99 to $12.15! You won’t be disappointed. (affiliate link below)
Thank you for stopping by! Happy Crafting! Yvonne Metz
Happy Tuesday All! Wow this has been a very busy month for me. With end of year school stuff and sports…you know priority’s. But things are winding down and I’ll be sharing lots more with you all.
Well I just have to say when my Friend Diana created this Still Oh so popular pattern in I want to say 2017 – I don’t think she realized how popular it would be next to her Cable Hat pattern. Both which I have made videos for. (click on my YouTube channel above)
Yes the Katniss Messy Bun Beanie is still very popular and after much thought I’ll be re-doing the 1st video I made of this beanie for a few reasons. I would like to show you all how to close it for a full beanie instead of a Messy Bun Hat, I never made a left handed version and last it was my 1st video and I was super nervous!! LOL! So stay tuned for that. If you don’t yet have the pattern for this Beanie and you aren’t a member of our FB Group – Click Link below to download!
Happy 2019 All! I know long time no post! The end of 2018 was super busy in my house hold! With work, Son’s baseball and my Grand-babies- YES super crazy and FUN!
I wanted to start this Year off with a Giveaway! I’m almost at 25K Followers on my YouTube Channel! I can’t believe it! So awesome! SO having said that what you need to do is- 1: Subscribe to my YouTube Channel 2: Leave a comment NOT here BUT on my YouTube Channel in order to qualify!
Yup that’s it Easy Peasy! My way of saying THANK YOU to all those who watch my videos and ALL the encouraging words that keep me going! Video is below.
Next post I have a really cute Beanie that I want to share so stay tuned! I’m working on a video for it as well for those that need the visual!
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting, Yvonne Metz
Hey All! I know LONG time no post – I tell you so much has been going on since my Granddaughter “Alana Elise” has been born! Being at my Daughters and helping her (C-Section) and working, Hooking and trying to make Videos?? I just need to slow it down! LOL! I have made a few new videos and am making more! I wanted to share these 2 Hats I made for my Granddaughter with the Adult Cable Pattern!
I’ll post a photo with her wearing it! She doesn’t seem to be a fan of having things on her head! LOL! Anyway, here is the Pattern by Diana Borgstrom for the ADULT Version M@ssy Bun Cable Hat
UPDATED to ADD the BABY Cable – Baby Cable Hat
Now there are a few things that I’ll do different next time for the Baby Size – 1 is to make the brim smaller – I’ll do Ch 6 instead of the one that is in the Adult version although you can fold it up if you’d like. There will be a video made for this size coming very soon.
One more thing I did 50 rows for the brim and that fit her perfect. Remember this pattern is worked by measurements – so measure the head that the beanie is for. I just LOVE how tiny and cute this is and LOVE how this fits on my Granddaughter!
I have more to share and will do so very soon! I just now seen some messages and I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. I’m usually notified when I get comments and I wasn’t. UGH! Anyway enjoy the pattern. Need to see the Video? You can see it HERE!
Well I have finally finished the Video for the 3rd and final week of the Faye Doll CAL….Sorry it took so long lot’s going on here!
Here is the pattern for the Hat and Scarves – Faye Scarf & Hat CAL In the video I show how I did her Hair. I’ll post a photo of her a little later. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. Thanks for stopping by!
