Top Down Nirvana Beanie

Happy Fall everyone! I know it’s been way to long since my last post. Lots going on for sure. I’ll share when I’m able to.
I just finished a long awaited video. Way to long, but here we go! I made the Nirvana Beanie a few years ago and the pattern starts with the brim. Many in our Facebook Group wanted the Top Down version and I figured it out. For those that are visual learners I’ve finally finished the video. Which I’ll be posting today. The link will be here as well.

So without further ado…….The Nirvana Beanie (Top-down Version)

I’ve been in LOVE with how this beanie turned out when I created it a few years back. I love the texture. The photo shows the Slouchy version. I used Red Heart with Love yarn.

In the video I’m using “I Love this Yarn” and I made a fitted version. You can get 2 beanies out of 1 skein of yarn. I have yet to make a slouchy version out of this brand of yarn but I plan on it.

I’ll share pictures of the other beanies I’ve made on another post. I’ve only made about 10 or 11. Yes, been busy hooking!

Here is the Pattern: TOP DOWN NIRVANA BEANIE
Pattern directions are for Slouchy style, video is fitted.

Here is the video to make this Beanie:

I hope you enjoy making this beanie as I have. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. I’ve got more projects coming your way. I’m actually obsessed with making Hexagon Cardigans right now as well. They are so fun to make, addicting and so many color choices!

Until next time Happy Hookin’!

Yvonne

Long time no post….

Happy Friday!

Good Morning! I know long time no post! First and foremost I want to say that I hope everyone is staying safe out there. Wow crazy times right now.

To say that things for me here in 2020 have been crazy, as I’m sure it has been for most, I started mine off with lots of crazy in January. Can we say “Slab Leak”? Been dealing with that since January, had it fixed in February then another leak, YES, another one which took us into all the madness of Covid-19. Now? Another leak same area different spot. Let’s just say this new one will hopefully be the last of 2020. Should be fixed next week!

So besides dealing with water issues, since all this started I’ve also been making and donating masks here in my local community to Hospitals, Medical Offices and local organizations. I’ve also added masks to my Etsy shop to be able to help with supplies to keep donating. To say that my sewing machine and I have been super close lately is an understatement! LOL! I do come up for to breath though. (below some of the masks I’ve made)

Like most people I lost my job that I just started in February. Lucky my husband still has his as his job is essential. Super thankful for that.

Since making masks all my other crafts have been put on hold. I finally crocheted a few beanies last night! I’ll be starting my YouTube videos again as I get things organized in my craft room which looks like a tornado hit it. I’ll also be blogging more too!

Well I better get started organizing my craft room! Hope you all have a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by and stay safe out there!

Happy Crafting!

Preemie or 18″ Doll Mermaid Tail Blanket Tutorial

Hey All! Well I’m back with another great tutorial. This one I’ve posted before BUT I’ve update the pattern.  When the Mermaid Tail Blanket Craze hit about 4 yrs ago I created a size for an 18″ Doll (using my friends daughter’s American Girl Doll). I was inspired by so many out there – MJ’S Off the Hook Designs & many others.

Here’s the one I made recently.  I just love this color.

I’ve decided to make a video tutorial on how I made it as well. I know there are many visual learners. I’ll update this post with the videos once it’s loaded on YouTube.

As always I make the videos available for Left-handed crocheters as well.

Here is the updated pattern –  Doll or Preemie Mermaid Tail Blanket

Happy New Year

Wow it’s already 1/2 way through the month of January! My New Year started off with plumbing issues (1/3/2020) – That’s always fun!  BUT I know it could be worse!

Wanted to share this new project with you all! Ending 2019 with all kinds of ribbing projects, I thought I would start with yet another one. It’s kind of a continuation from last year as this was shared in our FB Group!  I’m almost done with the video so I’ll update this post when it’s finished.  But thought I’d go ahead and share the pattern here!
This is super easy to make and beginner friendly. Another plus!  The Ribbed Ear warmer w/Headband is what it’s called.

Again not my pattern just one that was shared by a few ladies in the group. I just LOVE it! AS many others do as well.  They match the Fingerless gloves that I made as well. Post for that one is here –  http://yvonnemetz.com/2019/11/27/ribbed-finger-less-gloves/

Here is the Pattern – Ribbed Earwarmer w band

I’ll update this post when I get the video up and ready!  I’ve a few more things going and ready to share. My mind has been going a mile a minute with Designs.

As always thank you for stopping by and……
Happy Crafting!

Happy Holidays

Happy Friday everyone!  Hoping your Holidays where spent well! I so enjoyed my time with Family & Friends!

Well before Christmas I shared a few things in our FB Book Group one of them was a New Beanie Pattern I came up with!  I KNOW I don’t do patterns and I honestly have NO idea what has gotten into me lately.  But this pattern was in my head and finally made it on to my Hook.  Super pleased with the results.  I’m working on a pattern as I just jotted everything down and will share once it’s done.

Here is the 1st Beanie – Now to come up with a name for it.  I thought it looked kinda Grungy and the 1st thing that came to mind was “Nirvana”.   So funny as when I mention to the Group about having a hard time coming up with the name, the first comment was this exact thing. Great minds think alike! But then there were a few other names so I’m going to think about them and do a Poll and see which one wins.

Stay tuned as I’ll be sharing more photos AND other things I was working on before Christmas as well.   Of course I’ll be making more videos.  This one being one of them for sure.

Thanks for stopping by and as always,

Happy Crafting,

Quick Review and more….

Hey all Wow June 1st already! School is almost out here (June 7th, 2018) and my son will be promoting to 9th grade! Yikes!!!  How time flies! Seems like yesterday he was starting Kindergarten!

Anyway, just a quick update on the Faye Doll CAL – The video is almost done for those that are visual OR that just like to follow along. My Mom had cataract surgery and was planning my Daughters Baby Shower. Not busy at all! I’ll for sure share her gifts I made in another post. Can’t wait to meet my Granddaughter “Alana” coming July 2nd!!  But the videos are just about done and I’m editing them now.

So I was asked to do a review by a Company called “KnitCrate” –  It’s a monthly subscription based program featuring their in-house premium yarn brands PLUS 2 exclusive patterns (1 knitting, 1 crochet).  I added the photo of the May kit which I believe you can still get! I was NOT disappointed!

The yarn is absolutely gorgeous! You get 2 skeins.  I don’t  knit but I do crochet! Can’t wait to make something with this yarn.  The pictures don’t do this justice at all!

If you are interested in trying this out OR just to get more information click KNITCRATE
for more details.  If you are interested use Coupon Code: YVONNE20 for additional 20% off your 1st month.

Thank you so much for stopping by and until next time….
