Hey All! Just a real quick post to share what I’ve been up to! It’s been crazy in this house with all the goodies I’ve been making! Here are a few Hats that I’ve been making for the shop at the Outlet Mall in San Clemente – Gift Boutique & Home Decor! We are getting ready for the Holiday’s and let me tell you if you haven’t been and you are in the area you’ve got to check it out! So many Unique Gifts! I’ll be working this Sunday and will take some pics of the new items and share here. These are just a few of the “Messy Bun” Beanies that I’ve got in there. There are more colors this one is “Cupcake”! I’ll share some more styles with you a little later.

Seriously, How adorable are these Teddy Bears???!!! After making the 1st one I had enough yarn over to make the 2nd one! Not bad for 1 ball of Caron Sprinkle Cake! Which is a brand new line of yarn. Love this in Birthday Cake color and it’s self striping so you don’t know what color will be next. So in LOVE with how they came out. I’ll for sure be adding these to my Etsy shop also! Thanks again to Sarah from Repeat Crafter Me for a GREAT Project!
If you are in the San Clemente area I’ll be adding them there too! Of course went into work at Michaels last night and picked up some more. I got a new color too! I’ll show you that one a little later! Now to get ready for my Sons Baseball Tournament in San Clemente this weekend! I’m for sure packing my yarn! Let’s see what I get done! So just a little Sneak Peek of what I was working on yesterday…..I’ll share more later promise! Of course if you follow my Facebook page then you’ve already seen them! LOL! I saw this pattern from another “Crocheter” Blogger that I’ve been following since forever. I want to say it started with her cute Owl Hat Pattern. Sarah Zimmerman at Repeat Crafter Me shared this super adorable Bear and I just had to make one. If you are a fellow crochet check out her Blog for the pattern. It works up super FAST and EASY! A whole heck of alot! Wow it’s been extremely busy here in my house with Crocheting and Stampin’ and now Baseball – OH and Yes Back to school! LOL! But it’s ALL be absolutely Awesome! My last post “Life Happens” I told you about the Store in San Clemente (Outlet Mall) well it’s been going awesome! I’m going to share with you a few of the things that have in the store! I know long time no post….so much has happened since I last posted! From my son’s baseball, end of school stuff and work? OH and can we add surgery in that mix! Yes LOTS going on! BUT have to say lots of great things happening too! So I’m posting the news!
So in San Clemente, Ca. they have an Outlet Mall which I’ve seen since they started building it! My friend’s friend opened a Consignment Store there! Yes I’ve got some items in there and there are LOTS of great Vendors too! Opening weekend was July 15th and it was just awesome! Such talent from these local vendors and the store is “Gift Boutique & Home Decor”. There are some paintings that I’ll get photos of as they are absolutely STUNNING!! If you are in the area you’ve got to stop by and check it out! After all it is Christmas in July!
So as you can see this is another thing that has been keeping me busy! I did get a Custom Order for a Blanket which I’m almost done with. Had to give my hand a rest! I’ll share that when I’m done with it!

Boy February has just flown by! Where did the time go? Well some of it went by with a visit with my Grandson! LOVE when that happens! Then there’s my son who plays Baseball & Basketball – well Basketball is coming to a close so it’ll be Baseball only. OH and he’s umpiring now too! WE are always busy, busy with something! It’s great though totally keeps him busy and out of trouble! LOL!
With all this going on this month I managed to do another video. It’s another great pattern by Diana Borgstrom called “Messy Bun Owl Hat” – It’s absolutely adorable! Just had to share her Photo too! This is a child size hat and the pattern can be found on her FB Group Crochet Messy Bun.

Happy Tuesday All! Just wanted to post a super QUICK and EASY pattern for all you Messy Bun Lovers! This one was inspired by “Alexis Middleton” (PersiaLou) from her Chunky Style Hat that I saw on YouTube! It is super EASY and Quick to make also very addicting! Great Stash Buster too! So get out your #6 Super Bulky Yarn and get Hookin”!
Materials Used:
Yarn: Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick n Quick- Black
Hook size: P/Q 15.0 mm (Brand Clover Amour)
Stitch Abbreviation:
Ch – Chain
Sl st – slip stitch
DC – Double Crochet
SC – Single Crochet
BLO – Back Loop Only
Note *** ch 2 does not count as a stitch unless noted.
Instructions: **Ch 10 or 12 – (Depending on how big you want your opening) join with sl st to form a ring, ch 2
Rnd 1 – 24 DC into the ring, join, ch 2 (24 dc)
Rnd 2 – 5 – DC into each DC around, join, ch2 (24 dc) Measures 5 ½”
**Brim – Rnd 6 – 8: in BLO SC in each stitch across, join, ch 1 (24 sc)
Happy Saturday all! Well just had to share this extremely easy Messy Bun Hat I made the other night! I wanted something that I totally didn’t have to think about while crocheting and this is what I came up with! The “Mindless” Messy Bun Hat. Click for pattern – Mindless Messy Bun Hat
This one is done from the Brim up and is all HDC’s (half double crochet) except the brim which is done in sc’s (single crochet). This works up extremely fast which is another Woo Hoo! Oh there’s also a video below the instructions.
Mindless Messy Bun Hat
Teen/Adult Size – fits 19 – 22 inch head
Stitch Abbreviations:
Ch – Chain
sc – Single Crochet
hdc – Half Double Crochet
hdc2tog – half double crochet 2 together or also called HDC Dec – half double crochet decrease
YO – Yarn Over
sl st – slip stitch
Note: HDC2TOG – YO insert hook in next stitch, pull up a loop, YO insert hook in next stitch, You’ll have 5 Loops on your hook – YO and pull through all 5 loops on your hook. This is your HDC Decrease or HDC2TOG.
Instructions:
Brim: Ch 6
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch1, turn (5 sc)
Row 2: sc in next sc, sc in BLO in next 3 sc, sc in last sc, ch1, turn (5 sc)
Row 3 – 48: Repeat Row 2
Note – This for me worked up to about 19″ – my head is about 21 1/2 – this stretches so make sure you MEASURE around your own head as you go along. It will also stretch with wear. If you are making for a child – there are many charts out there with basic head measurements.
Closing the Brim – Bring both ends together and sl st down going through both thicknesses. This is your seam so make sure you turn it inside before you start your Hat part. If you choose to.
Hat Part: ch 2 doesn’t count as a stitch unless otherwise noted
Row 1: ch 2, HDC evenly all around the brim, join to hdc, ch 2 (48 hdc)
Row 2 – 7: HDC in each across, join to hdc, ch 2 (48 hdc) ***From Brim to here measured just a tad over 5″
Decreasing:
Row 8: (hdc in next 2 stitches, hdc2tog) – Repeat () around, join to hdc, ch 2 (26 hdc)
Row 9: (hdc in next 2 stitches, hdc2tog) – Repeat () around, join to hdc, ch 2 (27hdc)
Row 10: (hdc in next 2 stitches, hdc2tog) – Repeat () around, join to hdc, ch 2 (21 hdc)
FO – and weave in all yarn ends with your needle.

I wanted to share another pattern from my gal pal Diana from the Netherlands – It’s her Basket Weave Hat pattern. Been wanting to make one of these in like forever. There is also a video I did for this one – which will be posted on the bottom.
