Hey All! I know LONG time no post – I tell you so much has been going on since my Granddaughter “Alana Elise” has been born! Being at my Daughters and helping her (C-Section) and working, Hooking and trying to make Videos?? I just need to slow it down! LOL! I have made a few new videos and am making more!  I wanted to share these 2 Hats I made for my Granddaughter with the Adult Cable Pattern!

I’ll post a photo with her wearing it! She doesn’t seem to be a fan of having things on her head! LOL! Anyway, here is the Pattern by Diana Borgstrom for the ADULT Version M@ssy Bun Cable Hat
UPDATED to ADD the BABY Cable – Baby Cable Hat

Now there are a few things that I’ll do different next time for the Baby Size – 1 is to make the brim smaller – I’ll do Ch 6 instead of the one that is in the Adult version although you can fold it up if you’d like. There will be a video made for this size coming very soon.

One more thing I did 50 rows for the brim and that fit her perfect. Remember this pattern is worked by measurements – so measure the head that the beanie is for. I just LOVE how tiny and cute this is and LOVE how this fits on my Granddaughter!

I have more to share and will do so very soon!  I just now seen some messages and I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. I’m usually notified when I get comments and I wasn’t. UGH! Anyway enjoy the pattern. Need to see the Video? You can see it HERE!

Thanks for stopping by and as always….

Happy Craftin’,

    • Hi Linda, Hmmm….you could be missing a stitch somewhere. Have you seen my video? Let me think on this one. But seems like you could be skipping a stitch.

    • Hi Cindy, Sorry for not responding sooner! I normally get a notification and I never got one. As far as the yardage I’m not to sure. BUT I do know that you can get a Full hat out of 1 skein plus a Pom Pom and you’ll have yarn left over. That was using Red Heart w/Love. Hope this helps.

The Cable pattern is AWESOME! So I measured my Baby Hat and from the from the Brim to the Decrease part measured 5″ if it goes a little over it’s fine. Then
you’ll start to decrease! Hope this helps!

I finished my brim today and figured, while my boys were playing I would start the cables… I looked at the clock and realized a lot of time had passed, I had an amazing start, but it was time to start supper!! Can’t wait for the boys to settle down tonight so I can get to working on it again!!

    • Hi Jeannie, Happy 2019! So sorry to just be getting this comment! I thought I was getting notified when I got messages but apparently it’s not fixed! The pattern is on this post for the Messy Bun Adult version. Also I have a Video for how I make the Pom Poms on YouTube. Links should be in the top right hand corner. 9. Hi there…I just love this hat. I did a hooded baby bunting in this cable stitch and it took me a will to figure it out but I did it. Now I would like to make a hat for my 7 year old granddaughter. How many stitches should I start out with?

    Thanks so much

    Jackie

    • Hi Jackie, I LOVE this Hat also! You would need to do multiples of 10 – For the Baby Hat I did 50 rows. It’s also going to depend on the yarn you are using. Best thing to do is to measure their heads. If your brim turns out with say 67 rows – then on the Hat part make sure you have 70 DC stitches. I hope this makes sense.
