I’m baaackk…..Told you I’d be back sharing my latest creation!
I was inspired to make my Doll by many Doll Makers but I have to say the 1st doll that inspired me was from a gal named Aniqua Wilkerson from “My Kinda Thing” on Facebook then I saw another doll from Dee Dee from “Off D’Hook Creations” also on Facebook they both were such an inspiration to me as I hadn’t done Amigurumi in years and seeing their creations got that creativity flowing and I pulled out a Bunny I had sitting around for awhile which you can see HERE!
Anyway seeing their Beautiful Dolls inspires this one! I have to say I’m “Extremely Proud” of myself! I’ve been waiting to bring this girl to life for some time now! Before I introduce you I’ve got to say this – Besides the Shoes (The Crochet Crowd) & the Flower in her hair – I made her up as I went along!
I am so Happy for you to Meet Yvette Monique -As you can see she’s a Baseball Girl! As you can also see she’s a Huge Dodger Fan and Loves #22 Kershaw! Her brother is a Pitcher and also Loves #22! She’s super pumped and ready for her next game! She stands at approx. 19 inches tall! She plays softball herself and if you ask her she’s got a great arm and runs like the wind! LOL! Speaking of running like the wind I need to get running to get my son for his next Track Meet soon! As always thanks for stopping by and who know maybe you’ll get to meet her brother and some of her friends and YES they are ALL Dodger Fans!! Feel free to share this post!
Hey Crafters! I know it’s been a while BUT wait til you see what I’ve been up to!!!
I wanted to share my latest WIP (work in progress) which I got started. It’s called a Corner to Corner or C2C Aghan in this case it’s a Graphgan – what does this mean? Well its going to be a Crocheted blanket starting in 1 corner and working your way up! Graphgan – meaning it’s going to have a type of photo in it. NOW I have to say I have done something like this before way back in the day but it was done a little differently. I’ve been seeing so many AWESOME Blankets with this and I’m finally attempting my own! Here’s the progress! Any guesses as to what it’s going to be? I’ll be posting more items so stay tuned! One in just a little bit!
***Now if you are a crocheter and are reading this I have a few Quick Questions – For those making Bobble-Ghans or C2C Graphgans which do you like better or which goes faster for you? AND which has less string mess.
Thanks for stopping by and as always,

Hey Crafters! Well first I hope you all had a great and safe 4th of July celebration for those who celebrated! We spent it with Family & Friends and GREAT Food! I’ll have to share of course my Spinach Dip recipe but also that cake that was there! It was Yummy!
Well on to my finally finished project – Yes as the title of this post said Baby Mermaid Cocoon which I had been dying to make! I have to say I’m very pleased with how this turned out too!
I found a great video on YouTube which I’ll post the link below for those who maybe interested in making one! Don’t be intimidated it’s really easy once you get the hang of it. I had to change it up just a bit as I wanted my scales to lay just a little differently!
There are 3 videos 1 for the Body, 1 for the Bikini Top and the last for the Starfish headband! Click HERE for the Body part then you’ll see the rest.
Materials I used for this project were all Red Heart Yarn – Colors in Turqua, Pumpkin and a little bit of Aran.
I just LOVE the Starfish Headband & The Shell Bikini top! This would make a great baby shower gift and a super CUTE Photo Prop of your “Little Mermaid”.
These will be in my Etsy shop soon as soon as I take just a little bit better pics! Just had to share before I call it a night!
Well that’s it for now. I’ll be back tomorrow with the Yummy Spinach Dip Recipe! As always thanks for stopping by and…….
I wanted to share my next project before I head out!
I’ve been wanting to make one of these for awhile now and am finally getting to it! Any guesses? I started it a few days ago. As you can see in the 2nd photo it’s much larger now! That’s where I ended last night! I am loving how this is turning out!
Well time to go make my famous “Spinach Dip” to take to my Aunts house a little later! Ok it’s done I just have to “Taste Test it” You know gotta make sure it’s good! Will totally share that with you all! Super Easy & YUMMY too!

Just a quick post to say Have a Happy 4th and where-ever you are be safe!
Happy Friday All – Well I’m finally finished and I have to say that I stayed up til almost 2 am finishing HER!
This is my first Doll and I LOVE HER! Not my first Amigurumi as I’ve made animals! See the after math on my table last night?? Ok, so I am not showing you the WHOLE table! LOL! The book I used is in a link below.
Oh Man but it was so FUN making her! I’m thinking I’ve got a new Obsession. How can I not! The possibilities are endless! You know I’m going to HOOK me another one right? You betcha!
Here she is standing up! She’s coming in at about 13″ tall! Now what to name her?? HMMM……
My son likes the name Andrea “Lady A” then changed his mind to Makayla. My daughter and son-in-law like Donna, Sophia, Aubrey then Madison “Maddy” – I’m kinda liking Maddy.
What do you think? As always thanks for stopping by and…
Hi Crafters!!! I know long time no post! Well it’s been crazy busy over in the Metz household! With baseball in full swing “no pun” intended, I’m driving my son here and there and everywhere! Thank goodness Basketball is over!!! But it’s all good, getting into a routine now!
Well I wanted to share this quick pic of what I’m working on. All kinds of yarn I wonder what it’s going to be? Any guesses? Leave me a comment!
I have also been busy with opening an eBay Store! Most know I’ve been a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator since 2003 and well you can say I’ve accumulated lots of Goodies! WELL I’m finally going through it all and selling it! You can check it out HERE so far I’ve got Stampin’ Up! stamp sets & Scrapbook/Card-making paper but I’m adding more everyday! I know I’ll be adding oh I don’t know “YARN”!! Got TONS of it!
Well off to go and check on my son and make sure he’s doing his homework!
Thanks for stopping by and as always…..
I wanted to share some hats & beanies that I donated in August. So what does 29 Headbands & 34 Beanies look like? Started these on Friday July 25th and they were ALL finished by Monday August 4th! My Mom helped with some of the hats and so did my Daughter & Son-in-law! Yep he loomed a hat!
They went to an Orphanage in Zambia – You can read about the Mission HERE! Loved making them! I have to see if I can get pics with the kids wearing them! I would LOVE to see that!
I hope to be making some more hats for an Orphanage in Mexico that they go to more frequently. I barely made a dent in the yarn that I have.
If you are interested in helping out please let me know. We can get together at my house! I’ll want to plan a “Hookin’ Date” soon! Crocheters, Knitta’s and Loomers welcome! Just want to donate leave me a comment here or you can email me at email@example.com
Hope you all have a great weekend! We’ve got a tournament this weekend so my time will be spent at the ball park! Yes, I’ll have my yarn & bag with me! Wait til you see what I’m working on. Maybe I’ll try to show you just a little teaser!
Hi again! Well here we go…let me just say that the blanket itself is a Granny Square! I made my square about 15 x15 which includes the border.
Ok, next I am sharing a link for the Elephant and the a link for the Banana. I can’t post those directions for the banana since it’s from a magazine.
So here are the Links – This one is for the Blankets with all the different ones you can make http://brittasami.blogspot.se/2012/03/baby-blanket.html and the next one is where I found the banana http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sock-monkey-cuddle-blanket If you have any problems with them let me know.
So now for my directions for the monkey’s facial features: I’ve never written a pattern so I’m going to do the best I can. They are pretty basic and easy I hope! Now you know we all have a different tension and I tend to crochet tight.
I used a size G Crochet Hook for all the features of the Monkey including ears and arms.
For the Head I used a size F hook. This combo worked for me. You’ll just have to play around and see what works for you after you make the Head.
